MOP is a by-product obtained from the husks of coconuts as those husks are processed to manufacture rope and other articles and is the perfect absorbent for all types of spillages. Advantages of MICRO ORGANIC PARTICLES (MOP) over granules 1. The main advantage of using MOP is that the particles are better at absorbing spillages than granules, and once absorption takes place the spillage is partially contained by the composition of the substance. MOP begins working as soon as it comes into contact with the contaminant and does not have to be “worked” as much as granules to achieve the desired effect 2. MOP absorbs more spills for your money 3. MOP locks in spills quickly and effectively 4. MOP is an organic product and consequently gentler on the environment. The spillage would be released from the MOP absolutely uncontaminated and the MOP could, in theory, be re-used. Please note that this re-cycling would only work where only one type of contaminant was being soaked up.
